Womack’s Virtual Battlefield Preps Lifesavers for Real Combat

FORT BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES — FORT BRAGG, NC – A soldier lies bleeding on the ground with several injuries. Nurses rush onto the scene and in an effort to save his life, they begin pulling supplies from their medical kits. Fortunately, on this day the scenario is not real, but the lessons learned by it will be an invaluable tool they will carry with them throughout their careers.

Womack’s Taylor Says Team Responsible for Recognition

Fort Bragg, NC — FORT BRAGG, NC - “Kelly has without a doubt impacted the Fort Bragg Community as well as Army Medicine.” That is the assessment given by Diane Thomas, Chief Nursing Supervisor at Womack Army Medical Center, regarding her colleague receiving the Army Medical Department’s Order of Medical Merit. The Order is a prestigious award bestowed upon members of the United States Army Medical Department for exceptional contributions to military medicine.

Paw and Order: The Elite Training of our Vets Caring for Military Working Dogs

FORT BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES — FORT BRAGG, NC - As troops exposed to chemical gas make their way through the woods and back to camp, Dennis maintains his composure and joins his fellow soldiers back to safety, where he—and his comrades -- will be decontaminated from the elements and his mission can resume.

Intrepid Spirit Center Unlocking Fort Bragg Service Members’ Full Potential

FORT BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES — FORT BRAGG, NC-- In their quest to provide top-notch care to active-duty service members, the Womack Army Medical Center Intrepid Spirit Center on Fort Bragg continuously monitors and improves their services. Their latest addition is the CBITE Plus program, which is an addendum to the Comprehensive Brain Injury Team Evaluation (CBITE) program that has long been a core component of Intrepid services.

The Fort Bragg Red Cross, R2 Performance Center, United Service Organizations, and Womack Department of Behavioral Health collaborated to help attendees learn to withstand emotional discomfort, bounce back from setbacks, and maintain a positive outlook in challenging situations during a community resilience workshop.

Collaborative Initiative Supports Military Families

FORT BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES — FORT BRAGG, NC-- A groundbreaking Supporting Military Families Collaborative (SFMC) initiative is making waves in the Fort Bragg community, providing vital resources and services to families. Launched in March 2024, the initiative has brought together more than 24 agencies.

WAMC: Enhancing Patient Care Through Virtual Technology

FORT BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES — FORT BRAGG, NC—Womack Army Medical Center primary care and outlying clinics implemented My Military Health in December, enhancing patient flexibility for better health management. In February they delivered more than 4,200 scheduled virtual visits.

Womack’s Groundbreaking Project Will Impact Field Dialysis

FORT BRAGG, NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES — FORT BRAGG, NC – The Department of Medicine Nephrology Service at Womack Army Medical Center are pushing the limits of what can be done to treat dialysis patients in a field environment. This unprecedented project could save the lives of soldiers during combat or civilians stricken by natural disasters who are suffering from renal failure.

FORT LIBERTY, NORTH CAROLINA, UNITED STATES — Author Kurt Muse, who almost single-handedly forced the eventual downfall of Manuel Noriega more than three decades ago, met with Soldiers from the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) Fort Liberty, NC on Friday. He also paid a visit to Womack Army Medical Center to speak about his ordeal to an audience at the Weaver Auditorium.
