Colonel David Zinnante most recently served as the Chief of Staff for the US Army Medical Center of Excellence at Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Colonel Zinnante commissioned as a Medical Service Corps officer through ROTC at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas, Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of Maryland University College, Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville, Master of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College, and Master of Public Health from Des Moines University. 

Colonel Zinnante is a graduate of the United States Army Medical Department Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, United States Army Command and General Staff College, and United States Army War College.

His most notable awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Medical Badge, Combat Action Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, Jumpmaster Badge, Air Assault Badge, German Parachutist Badge, and the Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3). 

Colonel Zinnante is board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
