Child and Family Mental Health System
About
CAFMHS supports children, adolescent and adult beneficiaries by offering time-limited, solution-focused, and evidence-based intervention in the form of individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. Medication management services are also available.
How to Receive Services
If you are interested in establishing services in CAFMHS, your primary care provider is your first point of contact. Your primary care provider will conduct an initial evaluation to determine whether a referral to CAFMHS will be placed via the patient electronic medical record. It is important that contact information in the electronic medical record is up to date. Once the referral from your primary care provider is received, CAFMHS staff will contact you to discuss your treatment options.
**Please note that CAFMHS does not offer emergent walk-in services.** In case of mental health or safety emergencies, you may seek emergency care at your nearest emergency room.
School Mental Health Program (SMH)
The CAFMHS School Mental Health program (SMH) provides mental health services for military children in DODEA schools. CAFMHS SMH providers are located in several DODEA schools on FT Bragg. Please see your child’s respective administrative school staff to request services.
