Jackie S. Mims
Command Sergeant Major Jackie S. Mims is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and he enlisted in the army on 1 April 1999 as a Motor Transport Operator 88M.
He attended basic training and his first advanced individual training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. He attended his second advanced individual training at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas to become a Medical Laboratory Technician 68K in October of 2004.
CSM Mims has served in many leadership roles including Motor Transport Team Leader, Laboratory Section Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Instructor/Writer, Laboratory NCOIC, Operations Sergeant, Chief Clinical NCOIC, Senior Enlisted Advisor, Battalion Command Sergeant Major, and Corps Chief Clinical Advisor.
His stateside assignments include Fort Campbell Kentucky, Fort Hood Texas, Fort Sam Houston Texas, Natick Massachusetts, Fort Bliss Texas, Aberdeen Proving ground Maryland and Joint Base Lewis McChord. His overseas assignments include Germany and Hawaii. He has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan for combat and peacekeeping operations.
CSM Mims’ military education includes the Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, Sergeants Major Academy, Air Assault Training, Basic Airborne Training, Pathfinder School, Basic Instructors Training Course, Battle Staff, Common Faculty Development Instructors Course, the Army Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Unit Movement Officers Course, Master Drivers Training Course, and the Warrior Transition Unit TRIAD course.
CSM Mims’ awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (6th award), the Army Commendation Medal (5th award), the Army Achievement Medal (6th award), Air Force Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (9th award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (w/ 2 Campaign Stars), Humanitarian Service Medal (2nd Award), Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal, Overseas Service Medal (5th Award), Basic Parachute’s Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge, the Combat Action Badge, and Recipient of the Order of Military Medical Merit.
CSM Mims is joined by his wife Maryjo, and his daughter Josey. He also has three adult sons Jackson, Joseph, and Jonathan.
