About Us
Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) is dedicated to Medal of Honor recipient Pfc. Bryant Homer Womack, a courageous medic who gave his life tending to the wounds of his fellow Soldiers in 1952. WAMC provides healthcare to about 200,000 TRICARE beneficiaries. This includes active duty service men and women, retirees, and their Family members. WAMC is a state-of-the-art medical complex and an integral component of Fort Bragg’s military mission.
Fort Bragg is home to the legendary 82nd Airborne Division, XVIII Airborne Corps, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, U.S. Army Forces Command, and U.S. Army Reserve Command. By population, Fort Bragg is the largest Army installation in the world, home to nearly 10 percent of the Army’s active component forces.
