Endodontic Residency Program
The U.S. Army Dental Health Activity Fort Liberty endodontic residency program is a fully accredited, 24-month program. Residents will receive comprehensive training in all phases of endodontic treatment, including diagnosis, non-surgical root canal treatment, non-surgical root canal retreatment, various surgical endodontic procedures, and coronal endodontics. Each resident is assigned a dedicated dental assistant and dental treatment room with a microscope and two chairs.
Approximately, 60% of the program is focused on clinical training while the remainder is dedicated to didactic training and research. Majority of didactic training is comprised of current and classic literature discussions, treatment planning seminars, oral pathology, and oral biology courses through Augusta University. Additionally, residents will explore the scientific method as they complete an original research project and produce a manuscript worthy of publication. Culmination of training results in a certificate in endodontics and Master of Science in Oral Biology.

Our mission is to develop residents into Army endodontists who are dedicated to the specialty, compassionate to their patient’s needs, experts in endodontic diagnosis, and committed to achieving the highest level of endodontic outcomes.
