The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.
If you have a scheduled appointment or other business at the MTF, please verify with your provider or applicable office within the MTF to ensure there are no changes in schedule. To learn how the lapse in appropriations affects your TRICARE benefit, visit

Getting Care

TRICARE for Life (TFL) Specialty Referrals

Non-enrolled TFL recipients

WAMC is now accepting select specialty referrals for our non-enrolled TFL recipients. The status of the available specialty clinics is updated below. Eligible recipients must have:

  • TFL coverage, including Medicare A & B
  • Current DEERS information
  • A referral from their network PCM

If the clinic below is accepting referrals, please bring a copy of your referral to the specialty clinic front desk to start the process. Most clinics are available in the Clinic Mall near the All-American entrance. Within 72 hours, the referral will be reviewed to determine if WAMC can continue your health care needs.

**Please ensure your information is current in DEERS and update
if needed before starting this process**

Contact DEERS Support Office at 800-538-9552 or visit https://milconnect.dmdc.osd.mil

If the specialty clinic is not listed above, WAMC is not accepting referrals at this time. Please check back for any updates to medical services.

Enrolled TFL recipients
Your assigned PCM must submit a referral for specialty care at WAMC. If the requested clinic at WAMC has space available, an appointment will be scheduled after the clinic reviews and accepts the referral. If WAMC does not have space available, the beneficiary will have to choose a civilian specialist.

Enrolled TRICARE For Life beneficiaries who are not accepted at WAMC for Specialty Care will receive a letter, the referral submitted by the provider, and a list of suggested specialty clinics in the mail. This is prepared and sent from Referral Management staff. The letter is sent to the patient’s home address and outlines the reason for services off post. There is information on contacting Medicare (1-800-MEDICARE) for benefits, and if the referral does not specify a network location, the list of specialty clinics is a suggestion to choose from local to the area. The clinic list is from Humana, as locations known to accept TRICARE will also accept Medicare.
