Physical Exams (PES)

Provides quality, comprehensive physical examinations for Active-duty, Reserve, and National Guard service members based on accepted medical principles and current Army Regulations. Our mission is to provide timely, quality healthcare, enhancing the medical readiness of the force and the health of the community.

Services Provided

Routine school physicals required for Military training:
- Airborne, Air Assault, Jumpmaster, Ranger
- Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB)
- Pathfinder, Sapper, Civil Affairs
- Special Missions Unit (SMU)
- Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE)
- Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS)
- Officer Candidate School (OCS), Commissioning
- Warrant Officer Candidate (WOC)
- Green to Gold (separate process not completed at PES)
  - Applicants are scheduled through Department of Defense Medical Evaluation Review Board (DoDMERB) at off-post civilian providers. For DoDMERB appointments, call 800-841-2707 or email DoDMERB.
Separation History & Physical Exam – (SHPE)
- Retirement, Expiration of Term of Service, & Chapter physicals

How do I schedule a physical examination?
Report to room 136 at Pope SRC located at building 307 at 383 Maynard St, Pope Field, NC to receive the physical exams packet with instructions. No physical exams are scheduled over the phone.

The completed physical exams packet to include hearing exam printout, vision (documented on DD 2808), dental (documented on DD 2808), labs (verified in MHS-Genesis), and x-rays(verified in MHS-Genesis) as required must be returned to room 136 and validated as complete prior to scheduling the exam with the provider.
Where do I check in for appointments?
Report to room 136 to be checked in.
Where do I pick up my completed physical exam?
All completed physical exams may be picked up in room 136 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 pm to 4:00 p.m.
