Admissions, Selection Procedures, and Benefits
The Womack Clinical Psychology Internship Program is a member of the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers and follows all APPIC policies and procedures for intern selection. Program information can be located on the APPIC* website.
Only applications from APA-accredited doctoral programs in clinical or counseling psychology will be considered. All applications must be submitted via the APPIC Application for Psychology Internships (AAPI). Additional selection considerations include:
- Applicants must have a minimum of 400 intervention hours and 150 assessment hours on the AAPI and must include a de-identified sample integrative psychological assessment report with their AAPI.
- Applicants must also submit a letter from their academic Director of Training certifying proposal approval for dissertation or capstone research project.
- Each applicant’s AAPI is further reviewed to determine whether the applicant’s specific experiences are consistent with this program’s training model and aims.
- Intern candidates must also meet the requirements for selection as an Army officer. All applications also go through the Central U.S. Army selection process. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements (e.g., physical fitness, and height/weight standards) and accept appointment as an Army officer with an associated Active Duty Service Obligation. Search for your local AMEDD Recruiter at GoArmy.com, or contact the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) at: (502) 626-0361 or (502) 626-0310.
